DPP-IV Ultimate delivers a unique mix of proteolytic enzymes per capsule, derived from fungal fermentation of Asperigillus oryzae and Aspergillus melleus, with a standardized enzyme activity per 100 mg. These are indicated by the abbreviations HUT, SAPU and SU. The units express the speed at which the enzyme in question converts substrates. Moreover, the presence of different protease forms leads to a significantly higher activity than a traditional DPP-IV preparation with only one protease form!

Deerland developed the high-quality DPP-IV enzyme in close collaboration with the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). In 2004, TNO, together with the American National Enzyme Company, investigated the usefulness of supplementing digestive enzymes, including proteases. They developed the patented TNO gastoIntestinal Model (TIM) for this purpose. This model very accurately simulates the conditions of the stomach and small intestine. This method makes it possible to take samples during different test phases, allowing quantitative results regarding the activity of enzyme supplementation to be measured for the first time.
