Vitakruid B-Complex active
Vitakruid B-Complex active
Quatrefolic®, the fourth generation of folate
Quatrefolic®, also called fourth generation folate, has superior bioavailability compared to synthetic forms of folic acid. Stability is guaranteed by the binding with glucosamine salt instead of the binding with calcium salt (the third generation of folate). In addition, regular folic acid forms must first be converted to 5-MTHF before they are functional for the body. Quatrefolic® is the already converted form of 5-MTHF, so the body does not need any further auxiliary nutrients to experience the effect of folic acid. The number one folate form worldwide!
Methyl donors
Methylation is essentially a transfer of a methyl group to proteins, amino acids, enzymes and DNA. This biochemical process takes place in every cell of our body and is essential for the formation of energy. Several B vitamins play an important role in methylation. In addition, so-called methyl donors play an important function within this energy-forming process. The nutrients choline, l-taurine and trimethylglycine added to this formula fall under the heading of methyl donor, and thus play a supporting role in the functioning of the other B vitamins.
High doses of B vitamins
B1 (Thiamine HCl)
We cannot produce vitamin B1 ourselves in the easily absorbable form thiamine, which is why we only obtain this water-soluble vitamin through food or supplementation. Thiamine in the form hydrochloride (HCl) means that the nutrient is pure.
B2 (Riboflavin-5-phosphate)
The organicly active form of riboflavin is called riboflavin-5-phosphate. This form is immediately available to the body and does not need to go through any further biochemical processes.
B3 (Niacinamide)
Niacinamide is the flush-free variant of vitamin B3, the form without side effects and immediately available to the body.
B5 (Calcium panthotenate)
The easily absorbable panthotenate is an essential B vitamin in its most natural form.
Vitamin B6 (P-5-P) the safest form
Two forms are used in supplements, pyridoxine HCL and the organicly active form pyridoxal-5-phostat (P-5-P). To date, no side effects from the use of pyridoxal-5-phosphate have been reported. Research from the University of Maastricht even shows that neuropathy caused by high doses of B6 can be entirely attributed to pyridoxine HCl. The B-Complex Active is therefore an extremely safe choice!
B11 (Quatrefolic: 5-MTHF glucosamine salt)
The bioavailable variant of folic acid (for more information, see the Quatrefolic box).
B12 (Methylcobalamin/Adenosylcobalamin)
The B-complex Active contains two bioavailable forms of vitamin B12. B12 in the form methylcobalamin has the supportive property of making stacked folate available to the body. The combination of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin in the ratio 50:50.
Choline, Inositol & PABA
Used to be considered B vitamins. That turned out to be an incorrect assumption, nevertheless the nutrients are methyl donors, which means they play a supporting role in our energy production (see the Methylation box for more information).
