Vitakruid Symflora basic pre- & probiotics
Eight probiotic strains, supplemented with prebiotics for optimal survival and metabolic activity.
Probiotics are good bacteria that naturally occur in our intestines. In the product they only exist in an inactive state to ensure their shelf life. When the single-celled organisms come into contact with water, they become active again and can support the maintenance of the microbial balance in our intestines.
Pre- and probiotics
In addition to probiotics, there are also prebiotics. These are indigestible dietary fibers that serve as food for the probiotics. This makes the number of active bacteria larger, stronger and they have a better chance of survival within our digestive system. Vitakruid has ensured that prebiotics are already included in Symflora® Basic for optimal effectiveness of the probiotics!
Multiple tribes
There are numerous bacterial strains that can have an effect on the intestinal flora. But which one should you select for a good probiotic? Research shows that a multi-strain probiotic is more effective than a single-strain probiotic (Hechard et al., 1990). With this knowledge in mind, Vitakruid has chosen a formula with no fewer than eight strains for Symflora® Basic!
Stability
Vitakruid has chosen to package Symflora® Basic in sachets. This packaging choice has several advantages over other packaging methods. This way, the product in a sachet remains optimally protected against moisture, light and air.
Survival
Crucial to the value of a probiotic is the survival rate of the bacterial strains after passing through our digestive system. Research by Winclove probiotics in collaboration with the University of Maastricht shows that the (cfu/g)* in Symflora® remains relatively stable after going through our digestive system.
Metabolic activity
The same study also showed that the (cfu/g)* in Symflora® provides a lot of metabolic activity. In short, metabolic activity represents the level of activity that bacterial strains within our digestive system achieve without causing damage.
Passing the survival and metabolic activity test are relevant indicators for selecting a good probiotic. The impression is often given that the number of colony-forming units (cfu/g)* is leading. The more (cfu/g)*, the better the product. However, this is a misconception. Because what is the point of a large amount (cfu/g)* if the bacteria all die in our stomach acid without reaching the relevant destination, the intestines.
Vitakruid always wants to go one step further in promoting health. Symflora® Basic has become a product that underlines this vision. A total probiotic formula that excels in terms of quality and price.
*CFU/g The abbreviation (cfu/g) comes from the English abbreviation (cfu/g), which means colony forming units per gram. In Dutch we have changed this to the concept of colony-forming units per gram. The bacterial count or colony forming units per gram represent the number of colonies of probiotics present in one gram of the product. One gram of Symflora® Basic contains 109 (cfu/g), so one sachet of 2 grams contains twice 109 (cfu/g).
Compound
Ingredients
corn starch, maltodextrin, fructo-oligosaccharides, inulin, corn dextrin, vegetable proteins, potassium chloride, magnesium sulfate, bacterial strains, enzymes, vanilla flavor, manganese sulfate.
Usage
Take 1 sachet per day.
Dissolve the contents of a sachet in approximately 100ml of lukewarm water. Let stand for about 1 minute. Stir well before consuming. Preferably take on an empty stomach. If you use antibiotics: wait 2 hours after taking the medicine before using Symflora® Pre- and Probiotics Basis.
