Açai is a dark purple berry with the appearance of a grape, the berry consists of no less than 80% pit. Acai powder is made from the Acai berry. The Acai berry is a small dark purple fruit that grows on the Acai palm (Euterpe Oleracea). This palm is native to the Amazon region of Central and South America. The Acai berry has been used by native Indian tribes for centuries. It is almost impossible to consume Acai berries fresh, due to the tropical climate. Once the berries have fallen from the tree, they can spoil within an hour. For that reason, they are only available in the Netherlands in pulp, juice or powder.

Mattisson Absolute Acai powder Bio is obtained by making pulp from organic Acai berries. The pulp is then freeze-dried into powder.
