What is Maca?
Maca is a root vegetable native to the Andes Mountains in Peru and the only edible plant that grows at this altitude (3000-4500 meters). Maca was used by the Incas and mainly considered a delicacy due to its sweet taste. Maca is also called the 'Ginseng of the Andes' and 'Mood food'. Maca naturally has a caramel-like taste.
You can add maca to a smoothie, tea, milk, coffee or other drink. You can also use maca in desserts and soups. Maca combines well with cocoa products.
Adaptogenic
Maca is an adaptogen. Adaptogens are non-toxic plants that help us resist physical and mental stress by returning the body to a level of homeostasis. We can use this, especially in these modern times of hustle and stress.
Use and storage
Use 1-2 scoops (3g) of Absolute Maca powder 1-3 times a day in muesli, yoghurt and/or fruit drinks. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Store cool, dry and closed.
