What is Reishi?
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a mushroom that has been used in Asia for more than 2,000 years for its positive effect on health. Reishi is one of the best known and most used medicinal mushrooms.
Ganoderma Lucidum is the Latin name and means 'shining skin.' In China, this mushroom is also called "the Herb of Spiritual Power".
Reishi grows as a parasite on deciduous trees, but can also grow on dead tree trunks. The color of Reishi is red and its shine makes it look like it has a layer of varnish over it.
